DUO // DJs NICK LUCOMBE // MAIS UM GRINGO

On Tuesday 1st November, Flomotion Live is proud to present a night of cutting-edge contemporary Brazilian music at Favela London, presented by hyped Brazilian record label Mais Um Discos and featuring Lucas Santtana live, playing his only UK headlining date, alongside DJ sets from Nick Luscombe and Mais Um Discos record label boss Mais Um Gringo.
Nick Luscombe is purveyor of Flomotion, one of the longest funning electronic music radio shows; featuring cutting edge live and DJ acts. http://www.flomotionradio.com

Mais Um Discos
promotes the most exciting new music from Brazilian artists who fuse styles, disregard genres and irritate purists.

Equal parts Thom Yorke and Tom Ze, Lucas Santtana is one of Brazil’s most interesting, dynamic and experimental singer-songwriter-producers from the new generation of Brazilian musicians. On `Sem Nostalgia’ Lucas used only voices, acoustic guitars, ambient sound and samplers to create a textured, haunting, disorientating and forward thinking soundscape. Lucas will recreate the album live with the Sem Nostalgia duo of Bruno Buarque(percussion, samplers) and Regis Damasceno (bass, guitar). Drawing influences from dub, bossa nova and folktronica, expect to hear the band move from haunting reverb-soaked ballads to glitchy percussive workouts that showcase Lucas’s potent songwriting and the musicians’ unique re-imagination of space, texture and rhythm.

Some call it Punk Folk, some say it’s like having the Arcade Fire in your bedroom, we say we are ten friends playing music that swings wildly from the epic to the intimate, the melancholic to the euphoric. We bring you songs of night and the city, the lost and found on the underground, and the club card redeemers seeking salvation in supermarkets.

Swallow & The Wolf is a London based indie-folk outfit; a gritty ensemble of guitars, piano, violin, drums/percussion and many, many voices. With influences ranging from Nick Drake to Arcade Fire it’s at once beautiful, driving, moving and uplifting; music to dance to, sing to, and fall in love to.

Welcome to the world of Foreign Slippers, where flocks of scratchy birds fly over enchanted forests full of cloth dogs and mercurial musicians, while a bewitching voice sings lullabies to the icy sky. At least, that’s one possible interpretation, according to Gabi Froden; singer, artist, author, songwriter and ruling deity of Foreign Slippers.
