Tom Caswell is an English blues guitarist who heads to Favela with his band. Expect the attacking tones of Freddie King and the warmth of B.B. King. Original material and classic blues covers leave you wanting more. The band is Ben Braybrooke on bass and Will Brunsden on drums. Find the blues right here in London.

Otto Fischer‘s only just begun to define his unconventional 21st century ballads. He is stylistically unique, laconic, melancholic and daring. With androgynous upper register focus which never borders on the maudlin nor is a pure falsetto; words warped by atypical timing of vibrato; singing love songs for a jaded age!

This summer sees The Apples returning to the UK for the first time since their incredible live show at The Jazz Cafe last year, at which a full house witnessed their signature explosive live experience. They’re an Israeli funk phenomenon with huge underground success. Expect Middle Eastern elements on top of a raw funk base, baking a thick multi-layered sonic treat. Tonight they’re sure to dig deep into their countless influences, resurfacing with genre-melting, ear-turning, booty-shaking music.

Afro Latin Funk Orchestra Kalakuta Millionaires has taken the UK by storm with their heavy mix of Fela Kuti-inspired brass lines, Latin percussion, Afro-psych organ and JB-style funk riffs. The band is an eclectic conglomeration of afrobeat, soul and latin traditions funked up with a 5-piece horn section and some edgy synth. A disregard for musical norms and a passion for sound makes for one helluva performance and aural treat.

Heading around London as a one man band extravaganza – Lewis Floyd Henry has managed to quite literally rock his way into many a Youtube video and heart. Looking and sounding spookily similar to the legendary Jimi Hendrix  and occasionally donning a top hat – Lewis takes his 30w amp, wee kick drum and electric guitar around Camden, Brick Lane and this summer, many a festival. He is no average troubadour, it’s all Rock ‘n Roll with smatterings from the likes of Wu-Tang – interesting – but it works!

JOE DRISCOLL
Joe Driscoll is an innovator for the genre defying music he creates, but also for the way in which he creates it. Joe’s groundbreaking live show is a modern day interpretation of the one man band. Utilizing live looping technology, Driscoll loops beatbox (oral percussion) to create the drum tracks live, then adds multiple layers of guitar and other intstruments.One man creating the soundscape of a full band, a one of a kind live experience that has seen him in demand throughout the world.

PAUL FREEMAN
Once upon a time Paul decided he liked music – and he learnt how to play. He was signed by the legendary Clive Davis and in the last year has toured with Joe Cocker, Todd Rundgren, Edwin McCain, Los Lobos, and Brandi Carlile.

The Conqueror summoned London’s finest session players and band leaders to one of the now legendary Jazz Meet jam sessions, the mission; to draw on their collective Afro roots and present hard Latin grooves in a style that is uniquely London’s! The result was so pleasing to all concerned that a band was born, and one not to miss at all costs!

Comprising musicians with backgrounds as diverse as South Africa, Guyana, Ghana, Cuba, Bangladesh and the UK, all firmly rooted in the musical melting pot that is London, they play a collection of classic covers, improvisations
and original tunes from the Latin canon.

The legendary Alan Weekes’ guitar style has been an important part of the international and local music scene since 1975. Having appeared regularly at the Ronnie Scott Jazz club in 2010 with his quartet, and is now a resident at Uncle Sam’s Jazz & Blues at the Haggerston, his rhythmic grooves and jazzy solos head to Favela Chic.

Weekes’ Quartet plays modern jazz, Janet kay/Carroll Thompson lovers rock, fresh reggae band, aswad, reggae and pop.
